How to use Chad Income Tax Calculator

This Chad income tax calculator works out the personal income tax (IRPP) that applies to work income for 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026. Chad uses a progressive scale: the first XAF 800,000 a year is tax-free, then 10.5%, 15%, 20%, 25% and 30% bands apply as income rises. The calculator shows your income tax, your effective rate and your take-home pay in Central African CFA francs, and lets you compare any two tax years side by side. It models a resident individual on the salary scale; capital income is taxed separately.

  1. Select your tax year (2023, 2024, 2025, or 2026) — the Chadian scale is identical in every year.
  2. Enter your annual gross work income in CFA francs (XAF).
  3. Keep the filing status as Individual.
  4. Click Calculate to see your income tax, effective rate and take-home pay.
  5. Turn on the year-comparison view to see two tax years side by side.

How Chad income tax works

Chad taxes resident individuals’ work income on a six-band progressive scale. The first XAF 800,000 a year is taxed at 0%. Income above that is taxed at 10.5% up to XAF 6,000,000, 15% up to XAF 7,500,000, 20% up to XAF 9,000,000, 25% up to XAF 12,000,000 and 30% above that. Only the part of your salary inside each band is taxed at that band’s rate, so your effective rate is always lower than your top rate. The scale has been unchanged across 2023–2026, so the calculator returns consistent results for each of those years.

Allowances, social security and capital income

In practice the scale is applied after deducting non-taxable allowances (transport, representation) and social-security contributions of 3.5%. These are documented here but not applied automatically, so the calculator taxes gross work income and is a slight upper bound. Capital income — rent, dividends, interest and capital gains — is taxed at separate proportional rates in Chad and is not covered by this salary calculator.
