How to use Bermuda Income Tax Calculator

This Bermuda income tax calculator confirms that Bermuda levies no personal income tax on individuals for 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026, so salaries are free of income tax. The 0% regime is structural, so whatever salary you enter the income tax is zero and take-home equals gross for the default case. The calculator shows your income tax, effective rate and take-home pay in Bermudian dollar, and lets you compare any two tax years side by side. Jurisdiction note: Bermuda compensation planning should separate true income tax from payroll tax and statutory insurance deductions to avoid misclassifying employer-side costs as personal income tax.

Why Bermuda has no personal income tax

Bermuda levies no personal income tax on individuals; the government is funded chiefly by payroll tax, customs duties and other indirect taxes. Income tax is modelled as a single 0% bracket spanning all income, identical across 2023 to 2026, so whatever salary you enter the income tax is zero.

Payroll tax and contributions, not income tax

In practice an employee portion of payroll tax and mandatory social-insurance and health-insurance contributions are withheld from pay, but these are not an income tax; they are documented but not deducted. The Bermudian dollar is pegged 1:1 to the US dollar. Consult the Government of Bermuda for confirmation.

Country-specific filing context

Bermuda compensation planning should separate true income tax from payroll tax and statutory insurance deductions to avoid misclassifying employer-side costs as personal income tax.
