How to use Moldova Income Tax Calculator
This Moldova income tax calculator works out the flat 12% personal income tax on employment income for 2023 to 2026. Moldova withholds 12% at source, so a gross salary of MDL 200,000 pays MDL 24,000 of income tax. The 12% rate has applied since 2018. The calculator shows your income tax, effective rate and take-home pay in lei and lets you compare any two tax years side by side. A personal exemption (around MDL 27,000) and the 9% health contribution reduce net pay in practice and are documented but not deducted.

How Moldova’s income tax works
Income tax is a single flat 12% on employment income, withheld by the employer, so the effective rate is 12% of gross at every income level and identical across 2023–2026.
Contributions and what is not deducted here
An annual personal exemption of around MDL 27,000 (plus exemptions for a spouse and dependants) and the employee 9% health-insurance contribution (CNAM) reduce your taxable base and net pay; the social-insurance contribution (CNAS) is paid by the employer. These are documented but not deducted, so take-home is shown after income tax only.
