How to use Fiji Income Tax Calculator

This Fiji income tax calculator works out the personal income tax on resident employment income for 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026. Fiji uses a progressive scale: the first FJD 30,000 is tax-free, income from FJD 30,000 to 50,000 is taxed at 18%, and income above FJD 50,000 at 20%. The Fiji Revenue and Customs Service labels this schedule "Year of Assessment 2022 onwards", so it is stable across these years. The calculator shows your income tax, effective rate and take-home pay in Fijian dollars, and lets you compare any two tax years side by side.

  1. Select your tax year (2023, 2024, 2025, or 2026) — the Fiji scale is identical in every year.
  2. Enter your annual gross salary in Fijian dollars (FJD).
  3. Keep the filing status as Individual.
  4. Click Calculate to see your income tax, effective rate and take-home pay.
  5. Turn on the year-comparison view to see two tax years side by side.

How Fiji income tax works

Fiji taxes resident individuals on a three-band progressive scale. The first FJD 30,000 of income is taxed at 0%, so lower earners pay no income tax. Income from FJD 30,000 to FJD 50,000 is taxed at 18%, and income above FJD 50,000 at 20%. Only the part of your salary inside each band is taxed at that rate, so a FJD 50,000 salary pays FJD 3,600 (18% of the FJD 20,000 above the threshold). FRCS labels this schedule "Year of Assessment 2022 onwards", confirming it is unchanged across 2023–2026.

Social Responsibility Tax and FNPF

A separate Social Responsibility Tax (SRT) of 18% to 24% applies only to income above FJD 270,000, so for typical salaries it does not apply and is not modelled here. Employees also contribute to the Fiji National Provident Fund (FNPF), a retirement scheme that is documented separately and not deducted in this calculator, so take-home is shown after income tax only. For high earners or FNPF specifics, consult FRCS.
