This Maldives income tax calculator works out Maldives income tax on the 0/5.5/8/12/15 scale for 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026. The first MVR 720,000 a year is tax-free, then 5.5%, 8%, 12% and 15% bands apply. A 7% pension contribution is documented but not deducted. How the Maldives’ 0/5.5/8/12/15 income tax works

The Maldives tax income on a progressive scale: the first MVR 720,000 a year is tax-free, then 5.5%, 8%, 12% and 15% bands apply up to and above MVR 2,400,000. The scale has applied since the 2020 income-tax law and is stable across 2023 to 2026.

Pension contribution not modelled here

Employees also contribute 7% to the Maldives Retirement Pension Scheme. It is documented but not deducted, so the calculator shows income tax on gross as a transparent estimate. Consult the Maldives Inland Revenue Authority for exact figures.
