How Serbia’s flat 10% salary tax works

Serbia taxes employment income at a flat 10% salary tax, withheld at source, on pay above a non-taxable monthly amount (around RSD 25,000–28,000). Only that non-taxable amount is indexed each year; the 10% rate is unchanged across 2023 to 2026. This calculator applies 10% to gross as a transparent upper estimate.

Social contributions and surtax not modelled here

Employees also pay social contributions of about 19.9% of gross (pension 14%, health 5.15%, unemployment 0.75%), and an annual surtax applies to very high total incomes. These are documented but not deducted, so the calculator shows salary tax on gross. Consult the Tax Administration of Serbia for exact figures.
