How to use Brunei Income Tax Calculator
This Brunei income tax calculator confirms that Brunei Darussalam levies no personal income tax on individuals, so salaries and wages are tax-free for 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026. Whatever salary you enter, the income tax is zero and you keep effectively 100% of gross before provident-fund savings. The calculator shows your take-home pay in Brunei dollars and lets you compare tax years side by side. Employees contribute about 8.5% of salary to the TAP provident fund and the SCP scheme — retirement savings, not an income tax.
- Select your tax year (2023, 2024, 2025, or 2026).

How Brunei’s income tax works
Brunei has no personal income tax regime at all. The 0% is structural rather than an annual figure, so income tax is modelled as a single 0% bracket spanning all income, identical across 2023–2026, and take-home equals gross for the default case.
Contributions and what is not deducted here
Employees contribute 5% to the Tabung Amanah Pekerja (TAP) provident fund and 3.5% to the Supplemental Contributory Pension (SCP) — about 8.5% of salary. These are personal retirement savings, not a government tax, so the default take-home is shown equal to gross. The Brunei dollar is interchangeable at par with the Singapore dollar.
