How to use Paraguay Income Tax Calculator

This Paraguay income tax calculator works out the progressive personal income tax (IRP) for 2023 to 2026: 8% on income up to ₲50 million, 9% from ₲50 to ₲150 million and 10% above ₲150 million. So ₲100 million of income pays about ₲8.5 million. The scale has applied since the 2019 reform. The calculator shows your income tax, effective rate and take-home pay in guaraníes and lets you compare any two tax years side by side. Deductible personal expenses and the 9% IPS contribution reduce net pay in practice and are documented but not deducted.

  1. Select your tax year (2023, 2024, 2025, or 2026).
  2. Enter your annual gross income in guaraníes.
  3. Keep the filing status as Individual.
  4. Click Calculate to see your income tax, effective rate and take-home pay.
  5. Turn on the year-comparison view to see two tax years side by side.

How Paraguay’s income tax works

The IRP is progressive: the first ₲50 million is taxed at 8%, the next ₲100 million at 9% and anything above ₲150 million at 10%. The guaraní has no minor unit, so amounts are shown as whole numbers.

Contributions and what is not deducted here

In practice the IRP is charged on net income after generous deductible personal and family expenses (housing, education, health), so many taxpayers owe little. Employees also pay 9% to the social-security institute (IPS). These are documented but not deducted, so the figure is a transparent upper estimate.
