How Barbados’ 12.5%/28.5% income tax works

Barbados taxes income after a BDS$25,000 basic personal allowance: taxable income up to BDS$50,000 at 12.5% and the excess at 28.5%. The allowance and rates are stable across 2023 to 2026, so the calculator applies the same bands each year.

National Insurance

Employees also pay National Insurance (NIS) contributions. These are documented but not applied, so the calculator shows the allowance plus the 12.5%/28.5% bands as a transparent estimate. Consult the Barbados Revenue Authority for exact figures.
