How to use URL QR Code Generator

Generate a QR code that opens a URL instantly when scanned — no app, no typing required. Perfect for marketing materials, restaurant menus, business cards, product packaging, and any situation where you want to bridge physical and digital. The encoded URL is stored directly in the QR code; no redirect service or tracking server is involved.

  1. Paste or type your full URL (including https://) into the input field.
  2. The QR code preview updates instantly as you type.
  3. Adjust size and error correction level if the code will be printed.
  4. Test the code by scanning it with your phone camera before downloading.
  5. Download as SVG for print materials or PNG for digital use.

Your data never leaves your device — 100% private processing.

URL encoding best practices

Use HTTPS URLs wherever possible — modern phone browsers warn users before opening HTTP URLs from QR codes. Keep URLs as short as possible: shorter URLs produce smaller, less dense QR codes that scan more reliably at smaller print sizes. If your URL is long (30+ characters), consider using a URL shortener before encoding, or use a higher error correction level to compensate for the increased code density.

Static vs. dynamic QR codes

This tool generates static QR codes where the URL is embedded directly in the pattern. If you need to update the destination URL after printing (without reprinting the code), you need a dynamic QR code, which encodes a redirect URL pointing to a service you control. Static codes are free, private, and do not require an account — ideal for personal use, open-source projects, and privacy-sensitive applications where tracking is not desired.

Alphanumeric mode
A QR encoding mode optimized for uppercase letters, digits, and a small set of symbols — 45% more compact than byte mode for supported characters.

A service that maps a short URL to a longer destination URL, reducing the data encoded in the QR code.
