How to use Word Cloud Generator
A word cloud turns a block of text into a picture where the most frequently used words appear largest, giving you an instant visual summary of what the text is really about. Paste an article, a set of survey responses, meeting notes, or a speech, and this tool counts every word, scales each one by how often it appears, and arranges them into a colourful image you can download as a PNG. An option to ignore common filler words like "the" and "and" keeps the focus on the words that carry meaning. Everything happens in your browser, so your text is never uploaded.
- Paste your text into the box.
- Decide whether to ignore common filler words.
- Click Generate Word Cloud.
- Review the cloud and regenerate after edits if needed.
- Click Download PNG to save the image.
Your data never leaves your device — 100% private processing.
What word clouds are good for
A word cloud is a fast, intuitive way to see the shape of a body of text without reading every line. Because size maps directly to frequency, the eye is drawn to the words that come up most, which often reveals the central topics, recurring concerns, or favourite phrases of the author. Teachers use them to preview a reading, marketers use them to sanity-check whether their copy emphasises the right keywords, and researchers use them to get a quick feel for hundreds of open-ended survey answers at once. They are not a substitute for careful analysis — frequency is not the same as importance — but as a first glance and as an attractive visual for a report or slide, they are hard to beat.
Getting a cleaner result
The quality of a word cloud depends heavily on filtering. Without it, tiny grammatical words like "the", "of", and "and" dominate because they appear constantly, drowning out the words you care about, which is why the ignore-common-words option is on by default. Beyond that, it helps to feed the tool focused text: paste the body of an article rather than navigation menus and boilerplate, and consider stripping out headers or repeated signatures. If a particular word skews the cloud — for example a brand name that appears in every sentence — you can simply remove it from the source text before generating to let the next-most-common terms show through.
