Falling Words
Words fall from above — type them before they reach the bottom. You have 3 lives.
How to use Falling Words Typing Game
This falling-words typing game turns speed practice into a challenge. Words drop from the top of the play area and you type them to clear them before they land — each cleared word scores points, the pace quickens as you level up, and a word that reaches the bottom costs one of your three lives. Your live words-per-minute and high score are tracked on your device, and the whole game runs in your browser with nothing uploaded. It is an engaging way to sharpen the speed and accuracy you build in structured lessons.
- Press Start to begin; words start falling from the top.
- Type a falling word and press Enter, or match it exactly, to clear it.
- Clear words before they reach the bottom — each miss costs a life.
- Keep going as levels speed up; you have three lives.
- On game over, review your score and WPM, then play again to beat your high score.
Your data never leaves your device — 100% private processing.
How scoring and levels work
Every word you clear adds to your score, with longer words and higher levels worth more points. As your total rises you move up levels, and each new level makes words fall faster and appear more frequently. This escalating difficulty keeps the game matched to your improving skill: a beginner has time to find each key, while a fast typist is pushed by a dense, quick stream of words. The round ends when three words have slipped past the bottom.
| Event | Effect |
|---|---|
| Clear a word | Score increases (more for longer words) |
| Reach a score threshold | Level up — faster falls, more words |
| Word hits the bottom | Lose one life |
| Lose three lives | Game over with final score and WPM |
Turning play into faster typing
The game trains the half of typing that drills often neglect: reacting quickly to whole words under time pressure. To get the most from it, resist looking at the keyboard, keep your fingers on the home row, and prioritise clearing words cleanly rather than mashing keys. Alternate short game sessions with the structured Typing Tutor — the tutor builds correct finger technique and targets weak keys, while the game builds the speed and confidence to use that technique fluidly.
