What makes a good would-you-rather question

The best would-you-rather questions offer two options that are roughly balanced, so there is no obvious right answer and people genuinely have to think and defend their choice. A great prompt is easy to picture, sparks a story or a laugh, and works for the group in front of you. The generator’s categories help you match the mood: keep it light with Funny or Food for a party, go imaginative with Superpowers and Travel for kids, or reach for Deep when you want a more reflective conversation.

Turning prompts into a game

Would-you-rather works as a game in several formats. In its simplest form, everyone answers in turn and briefly explains why. For larger groups, split the room by which option people choose and have each side argue their case for a minute. As a party game you can add a rule that the majority choice scores a point, or that the funniest justification wins the round. Because the generator produces an endless supply of prompts on demand, you never run out mid-game — just keep tapping for the next one.
