Rotation is a metadata change — no re-encoding occurs, so there is no quality loss.

How to use Rotate PDF Pages

Rotate PDF pages by 90°, 180°, or 270° in your browser without re-rasterizing the content. Fix upside-down scans, correct landscape pages in a portrait document, or rotate individual pages selectively. The rotation is stored as a metadata flag in the PDF — no image quality is lost during the operation.

  1. Upload the PDF you want to rotate.
  2. Select whether to rotate all pages, odd pages, even pages, or specific page numbers.
  3. Choose the rotation angle: 90° clockwise, 90° counter-clockwise, or 180°.
  4. Preview the result to confirm the orientation is correct.
  5. Click "Rotate" and download the updated PDF.

Your data never leaves your device — 100% private processing.

How PDF rotation works (lossless)

PDF rotation is a metadata operation — the page's /Rotate entry in its dictionary is updated from 0 to 90, 180, or 270 degrees. Unlike image rotation, this does not re-render or re-sample any content. A page rotated 90° in a PDF renders identically to a page created at that orientation — text remains crisp and vector graphics stay sharp. This distinguishes PDF rotation from JPEG rotation, which re-encodes the image and introduces JPEG artifacts on each save.

Common rotation scenarios

Multi-function printers and scanners often produce pages in the wrong orientation when paper is loaded sideways. Combining PDFs from different sources frequently results in mixed portrait and landscape pages. Presentation exports from PowerPoint may produce 90°-off pages in some PDF converters. All these issues are fixed with a single rotation operation. For documents with both correctly and incorrectly oriented pages, use the selective page rotation mode to fix only the offending pages.

Landscape orientation
A page wider than it is tall — used for wide tables, slides, and panoramic images.
Lossless operation
Any file operation that does not degrade image or data quality, unlike lossy operations such as JPEG re-encoding.
