How to use Domain Age Checker
The Domain Age Checker reveals when a domain was first registered and calculates exactly how old it is in years, months and days, drawing the creation date from its WHOIS record. Domain age is a useful signal in many contexts: search engines and spam filters tend to trust older domains, buyers assessing a domain’s value want to know its history, and security teams treat very newly registered domains in links with extra suspicion because they are favoured by phishing campaigns. This tool turns a raw registration date into an at-a-glance age plus the key registration milestones.
- Enter the domain you want to check.
- Click Check to fetch its creation date from WHOIS.
- Read the calculated age in years, months and days.
- Note the creation, last-updated and expiry dates shown.
- Use the age as one signal when assessing trust or value.
Why domain age matters
An older domain has a track record: it has had time to earn backlinks, build a reputation with mailbox providers, and demonstrate that it is not a throwaway used for abuse. While search engines insist age alone is not a direct ranking factor, the signals that accumulate with age — links, history, stability — do help. In email and security, the opposite logic applies to brand-new domains: because criminals register fresh domains in bulk for short-lived phishing, a link to a domain registered hours ago warrants caution.
Age is one signal, not the whole story
A long registration history does not guarantee quality, and a young domain is not automatically untrustworthy — many excellent sites are new. Age is most useful alongside other checks: the WHOIS status, whether the domain has changed hands, its DNS configuration, and its reputation on blacklists. Treat the age figure this tool reports as one input into a broader judgement rather than a verdict on its own. Combined with a WHOIS lookup and a blacklist check, it paints a fuller picture.
| Domain age | Common interpretation |
|---|---|
| < 30 days | Treat links with caution (phishing risk) |
| 1–5 years | Established, generally trusted |
| 5+ years | Long track record |
